Weekdays 10:00am-2:00pm

Hello family, friends, and fans! I’m Angie Gomez, your “Midday Diva”, weekdays from 10:00AM to 2:00PM on MEGA 104.3 Arizona’s Old School! Raised in the lovely town of Superior, Arizona, and 1996 graduate of Ray High School, go “Bearcats”! I have been part of the Mega family for the past four years and let me tell you it has been such an honor. Growing up I listened to the sounds of Earth, Wind and Fire, Carlos Santana, George Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Prince, all of the old school artists that we play here at MEGA 104.3.

Of course at that time it was not old school, it was new school. So getting familiar with the music was not a challenge for me. One thing I knew for a fact as a young girl, was that I wanted to entertain.

Let me tell you a little bit about my personal life. I am the oldest of four children, I have two brothers, one sister, three nephews, and one niece.  My parents and both sets of grandparents live in Superior. Most of my free time, when I have it, is spending quality time with them. We love to cook-out, watch sports and listen to those good ole’ oldies!

Working at the radio station is not my only line of work. I am the lead female vocalist for the group, Powerdrive, a very well known band through out the Phoenix area. Powerdrive consists of eleven members, we have everything from horns to percussion to vocals.  I have been a member for the past 5 years and we perform at various restaurants, clubs, and casinos. The one question that I get asked when performing with the band is if I am the same Angie Gomez from MEGA 104.3, and the answer to that is yes!

Rockers The Doors threaten Paris bar

PARIS (AFP) – Lawyers for US rock group The Doors threatened legal action against a Paris bar devoted to the band, saying it did not want to be associated with a drinking establishment, the landlord said Thursday.

"I have received a letter from the lawyers of The Doors who are giving me 60 days to change the bar's posters, its name, the name of its cocktails and the website," Christophe Maillet, manager of the Lezard King bar, told AFP.

"The Doors did not want to be associated with a drinks bar," added Maillet, who opened the venue in September last year.

The bar's name is a tribute to the band's frontman Jim Morrison, who was known as the Lizard King after coining the term in a poem. It serves cocktails named after Doors songs such as "Soft Parade" and "Light My Fire".

"I thought I was doing a good thing, burnishing the image of The Doors," Maillet said. "I didn't ask permission but I suspected they would immediately refuse if I did."

He said he had told the US lawyers he would bend to their demand if they insisted.

Morrison died in Paris of a drug overdose in 1971 and is buried there in the Pere Lachaise cemetery.
