Art Laboe


Art Laboe is a radio and music icon, he was one of the first Disc Jockeys to play Rock and Roll on the West Coast airwaves and today broadcasts six nights a week with his syndicated show, The Art Laboe Connection. Art Laboe coined and trademarked the phrase Oldies But Goodies. He innovated the compilation album with his 15 volume album series he named Oldies But Goodies. His many awards include a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (at Hollywood Blvd and Highland Ave), the Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters Diamond Circle Award, the LARadio Lifetime Achievement Award and National Hispanic Media Coalition Lifetime Achievement Award. A permanent display of the Art Laboe broadcasting contributions also resides in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum in Cleveland.
