If you know Phoenix radio, then you definitely know Alex Santa Maria — a true hometown legend repping Maryvale High and the west side strong! Born and raised in the Valley, Alex caught the radio bug during a high school Career Day and never looked back.
He kicked off his career on the turntables (yes, real vinyl!) and has spun for icons like Donna Summer and The Sugar Hill Gang — and yup, he’s still DJing live around town every weekend! Over the years, Alex has rocked the mic at Phoenix’s top stations and chopped it up with music legends like Rick James, Smokey Robinson, Cameo, and Whitney Houston. Talk about iconic energy! He’s been a staple at Mega 104.3 Jamz since day one (literally!), holding down the afternoon drive every weekday from 3–7 PM. His favorite part? “I get to play the soundtrack of my life every day!”
But radio isn’t his only superpower… Alex is also a martial arts master and founder of Way of The Dragon Martial Arts. He’s trained with Legendary Masters and represented America in Japan and was inducted into the Masters Hall of Fame in 2011. Oh—and did we mention he’s a motorcycle-loving road warrior who rides for charity? At the end of the day, though? Alex’s heart belongs to his amazing wife Veronica and their five kids.
